Happy Birthday E !

Our little boy turned 1 on Dec 6! We partied a lot for this little guy. First we had a party with Paul's family after Thanksgiving. Then we had a party with my family on E's big day. He totally loved eating the cake, and opening the presents! Thanks to all our family for the great gifts he got, you guys are wonderful!!
This cake I made for E's Birthday. The one on the left was for E the one on the right was for everyone else.

This cake was made by our good friend Risa. She's getting a cake business going on the side. This cake was so delicious!

E was a little unsure of the candle so near him. He's seated in his brand new high chair!! Dad had just put it together before taking this picture. We love this high chair-Thanks for helping us get this for E Grandma JuLee! :)

Just before blowing out the candle after Thanksgiving. He looks pretty puzzled at why we're all singing for him.
This was great I showed E how to blow the candle out and he copied me and did it! Well the candle didn't go out but it was so cute!!

E- makes a funny

I think E- was inspired my his friend Owen's sayings by coming up with a few jokes of his own. The other morning we smelled his bum and noticed he had a poopy diaper. One of us said, "Somebody is poopy," and E- looked straight at Dad and said, "Mama."
There are definatly times when you wonder if he knows what he is saying or if he just has great timing. Later that same day Mom asked, "Are you ready to eat?" and E- said, "Naa."
He's a funny boy.
E- also does some funny things. Like in this picture he was practicing yelling at BYU when they make a bad play this weekend. He gets that from his dad. Go Cougars!

His hair is starting to grow back after his haircut and we had a little bit of fun with it.

E- loves to have fun bouncing on Daddy's leg.

This is E- with his cousin who was over while her mom and dad went to a doctor's appointment. A few days later she had a new baby sister and E- had a new cousin. I like this picture, because E- looks so big in his polo shirt sitting on the couch.

The Cute Things E- Does

We went to the mall Halloween night and got some candy and saw the other kids in their costumes. On our way out we saw some manicans that looked pretty real. It seemed like E- thought they were real, too, because when we put him close he acted like someone was in his person space. Then he looked up and smiled at what he saw.

E- loves playing with the pots and pans in our house. It makes a lot of noise, but he sure enjoys himself.

I don't know if we've written about this before, but E- loves to hold up one finger. Now he is using that same finger to point and say, "Uh." It's fun, because it gives us the opportunity to tell him what he is pointing at and help him understand what it is.

I don't know if you've noticed, but E- is a great smiler. He brings us a lot of joy and keeps us happy.

E- loves rice cakes. He usually gets just a little bit at a time, but daddy gave him the whole thing the other day and he loved it.

That's one other great thing about E-, he loves to eat. We haven't had too much trouble getting him to eat. For instance he ate almost the whole rice cake.

Thank Heaven for Grandmas...and Aunts!

Grandmas always give the greatest gifts. They know exactly what to get their grandchildren to make them look absolutely adorable. We have a lot of new clothes from E-'s grandmas and even more from E-'s aunt who has a son born during the same season as E-, just a few years earlier.

In this one E- is eating a stand I us for my trumpet. He's afraid of the trumpet, but loves the stand.
This picture makes E- look like he has teeth. At this point he didn't. It's just his tongue.
But now he has three teeth coming in at once. One on the bottom, one front, top tooth, and one incisor on top. Crazy huh?
Instert your own favorite phrase you use to describe babies and puppies here.........
This sweat shirt is my favorite. Thank you so much mom. I am a BYU baby myself so when I opened the package and put it on E-, I'll be honest, I almost shed a tear or two. I have so many great memories of going to BYU football games and now I can share my joy with my son. I've never been so happy in my life, except for when I married Sandy, of course.

Trunk or Treat!

Our ward had a trunk or treat party the Saturday before Haloween this year. We had a lot of fun getting E- a fun costume and dressing up with him. Can you guess who he was this year?
That's right, Charlie Brown. You may be wondering what is on his forehead. Well go look at some Charlie Brown comics or cartoons and you will soon see that this line represented the only hair that he had on his head.
E- loved the Smarties he was given and would not let go, even to grab more candy.

This is us in front of our trunk, ready to hand out candy. Yep he's still got the Smarties.

This was the first candy he recieved. Mom was so proud, because she loves Peanut M&M's. E- loved to look at it and show it off for others to see.

Now can you guess who Sandy and Pawly are? We were Linus and Lucy and Snoopy came along to round out the Peanuts crew. Happy Haloween everyone!

Pawly made me do it!

So we've been thinking that E needed a hair cut for awhile and yesterday we decided to just bite the bullet and do it. We'll I was still hesitant, but Pawly insisted. So now E has less hair, and I'm a little sad. But he's still my cute little boy.

E was happy through most of the hair cut, until I pulled out the electric clippers, he didn't really like that noisy thing next to his ears. By by cute blonde locks :(

It's a head floating in a blue sea!! No, wait it's E, happy to have the camera on HIM.

I'm not so sure E likes his new do....

....well now there's a smile! I hid my face cuz I really wasn't that happy with how short his hair got. I wish I could have just cut it by hand to keep it longer, but E wouldn't hold still very well. That's ok, hair will grow!

Oh Happy Day!

Today we got internet!!!! Horray! We're now connected, at home, with the outside world! Thanks for every one's patience with us in getting internet! Now the wait is over! Now we'll be updating our blog more often. Now you'll see more of our baby then you might want to.....naa that's not possible! :)

Here are some cute pictures of our little guy and some of our recent family pictures!

These pictures were taken in July. This picture is especially rare becuase E won't let Pawly do this trick any more. I'm not sure why he stopped liking it, maybe it has something to do with learning to crawl, but he's done with this phase.

Climbing and Crawling around for real!

E-is 10 months old now! In the past few weeks he's seemed to start crawling and climbing all at once.
Now he is getting really good at both.
He started by pulling himself up to standing position.
But he didn't know how to let himself down.
But he eventually figured things out.
This was one of E's- more stylish moves.
Are you watching mom?
He sure has fun crawling and climbing.
(notice his toys in our entertainment center, why you might ask? well the books we once stored there were too interesting for baby E, so now he can have fun with his toys instead of rip apart our books :)

The many sides to our baby E

E's personality already has depth and diversity, it's amazing what such a little guy can do/be:
The Little Hammer Man:
Here he is with his hammer, thanks Grandma, that he loves to shake around. Luckily mom and dad have yet to be clunked in the head by this hammer, but I think our days are numbered.
Look at the concentration he has here, looks like his tounge is hanging out a bit.
He LOVES this hammer. Pawly is so proud because when he was little he had a beloved hammer too. So like father like son.

The Professional/Spiritual:

I didn't think E was big enough for this church outfit yet, but Pawly proved me wrong, and I'm sooo glad. Isn't he just sooo cute in it! All the ladies at church couldn't stop talking about how cute he was. That made E smile all the more at them. We've learned that the more you tell E he's cute the bigger his grin gets!

He's our lil missionary.

(Thanks Taunalee and Katie for getting it for him)

This was Pawly's idea, but I love it, cuz I used to tromp around in my parents shoes all the time when I was a kid. So like mommy like sunny.

The Playful Side:

We had family home evening at the park one nice night. Mom and Dad had the most fun pushing E on the swing and going down all the slides.

This blue tube slide was a bit scary, probably why E isn't smiling. One little girl ahead of us was yelling at her parents that she didn't want to go down, but her brother kept coaxing her to do it. She was scared but eventually did it, so if she wasn't ready, E definately wasn't ready, but oh well, he didn't complain and we BOTH took him down the slide.

And finally The Tower Crusher:

Daddy has loved the A, B, C blocks E has to play with, and they play all day. Dad builds all sorts of cool towers, E looks at em, then CRUSHES THEM! Even if you just put 2 blocks on top of eachother, he's right there to knock em down. However, Pawly did notice that E did his own block stacking the other day, but he was probably trying to hide it from his daddy so he didn't loose his tower crushing reputation. :)

Looks like he's thinking, nice tower Dad....

....lemme knock it over for ya. That the best ya got?

He's unstoppable! And we love him!
