Good News Minute

(this isn't a recent photo, due to Erik's size you might have guessed that.)
I'd like to take a minute to recognize my husband's recent accomplishments. It seems we are very consumed with Erik's milestones, but sometimes neglect to mention the happenings in ours,'the parent's,' life. Pawly has been accepted into Graduate School!!! The university he applied to in Idaho has accepted him and we are thrilled to move to my home town so Pawly can further his education. It's a great program and I know Pawly will do so well! He might even be able to do his interning at LDS family services! What an answer to pray it has been to get this acceptance and know where our family is going! I'm so proud of Pawly! We have truly been blessed!

Hat Man

We've been taking pictures of Erik in some of the hats we have around the house, because he looks so good in them. And he makes some great faces.

This is by far our favorite face of Erik's we've ever captured. I actually caught it on my phone and had to e-mail it to myself so we could put it on the blog.

Watch Out! Baby driver

On the way back from Seattle we figured since Erik was over 16..........weeks we would let him start driving.

At first, Erik was having a hard time seeing over the wheel, so Grandpa Shores helped by lifting him up.
But then we noticed that Erik has been listening and watching his mom and dad a little too close while they drive. Yes, even babies get road rage, so be a good example.
We even caught Erik saying a few choice words to someone that cut us off.
Which is why we are going to wait until Erik is at least 16 years before he can drive again.

ROAD TRIP!

Pawly had an interview for grad school in Seattle last weekend so we drove up there with my parents. While Pawly was answering questions all day we, Grandma, Grandpa, Erik, me and my Aunt and Uncles plus some cousins toured a little of Seattle. We went to the Pacific Science Center and Pikes Market.

We also went on a walk and saw Vashon Island and the Vashon Ferry. Of course it was raining, so we were happy to have these huge umbrellas! Daddy got his turn carrying Erik in the snugli.

We took Pawly on his first visit to The Old Spaghetti factory in Tacama and he loved every minute. This is a 3-straw long contraption to drink his strawberry lemonade. It made us all laugh to see such sport.

The food was great but the coolest part was seeing Erik sit up in the high chair all by himself! He is amazing us with his strength everyday!
He gives Grandpa GREAT hugs!
Look at that, eyes fixed on the toys, he's gonna get em ya just know it!

Growin' and Swingin'

Yesterday we put Erik in his swing and Pawly noted, 'He looks huge in the swing!' I agreed that he has grown quite a bit. We thought we'd take a look at all the pictures we've taken of him in the swing to see just how much he's grown.
This is him 1 week old in December
2 months old
Yesterday, almost 4 months old
He got his 4 month shots at the Dr. yesterday and weighed in at 16lbs 13oz and 27 in long. That puts him in the 90th% for weight and 98th% for height! So he's taking after his daddy in height. The Dr. says he's hit or exceeded the milestones he needs to at this age, GO ERIK! His latest trick, which we need to post pic's of, is sitting up! He can sit up on our laps un-aided for a couple minutes before he folds forward in half. :) We're so impressed with him and love watching him grow, he's amazing!
