Family Vacation

We started out our vacation with a good ol' 24th of July, Pioneer Day, Parade.
This was my favorite float. It's the Ogden temple and the boy on top is supposed to be angle Moroni. He even blew the horn he was holding, it was so clever and awesome!

Here's the family ooh-ing and ah-ing at the parade.

Then we went to Union Station to play on the trains and eat lunch.
Erik's a good driver, even though he's not looking straight ahead, I'm sure he's just checking for traffic :)

Playing in the fountain and enjoying the cool water.

Pawly and I took our engagement pictures here at Union Station
So we took some pictures of our favorite spots, this time with our cute little boy with us.

And one in front of the fountain.
(that was turned off in Feb when we took our engagement pic's)

This was also a fav spot of ours. Don't Pawly and Erik look so cute!

Then we got to climb all over, and even into, the trains.

These trains are HUGE!
Just the wheel is taller than Pawly and my brother Ben, both about 6'4"

This Olympic train was used to carry the Olympic torch in 2002 and we got to stand on it. Pawly and Erik got to touch the torch, sooo cool!!!

We celebrated some Birthday's. Yummy cake!
Happy EARLY Birthday Ben and Heather!

Then we biked to a park and played on the swings.

We had a fun bike ride down to the park, but going back up the long, steep hill to our condo was HARD work! Luckily we had a pool to cool off in. :)
Fun times with my sis and her family!

The last day we saw DINOSAURS!
This was, by far, Erik's favorite exhibit; the animatronic dinosaurs. It was the first thing he saw and he didn't want to leave. When we did get him to a different part of the park, he'd eventually find his way back to this spot. Silly guy

We touched dino bones

And RODE a dinosaur.

And walked under a HUGE dinosaur.
and DUG for more dino bones and fossils.

By the end we were all tired. Erik took a nice long nap on the way home.
Now we're home and Erik keeps talking about the condo and I keep wishing I was in the pool :)

Happy Birthday Pawly!

First things first, I had to change mountain man Paul back into my husband.
The BEFORE
We went on a Pioneer Trek and Pawly decided to grow out his hair and beard to make the experience more authentic. I hated it.
THE AFTER
So much better and So much softer to kiss :)
then it was time to celebrate....

Pawly's
Golden Birthday!
27 on the 27th!
So I had some fun decorating his cake.
and He and Erik had fun blowing out the candles.

again and again.
I mixed in some trick candles with the regular. My trick would have worked better if the trick candles didn't spark, but it was still fun, and Pawly was a good sport about it :)

Guess what my mom and Pawly have in common?

Their BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to my mom and hubby!

So we did more to celebrate than just eat cake.
We went to Table Rock to enjoy the view of the valley and hike down to the B.
Erik and Pawly really liked walking ON the B
Pawly got tickets to Brian Regan, our favorite comedian.
And instead of jumping around the room with excitement, he just let the tears of joy flow.
Then on the night of the show, we laughed so hard we cried and our cheeks hurt.
In honor of Brian Regan we ate Fig Newtons, by the sleeve. :)
