Valentine's Weekend

This weekend we took a trip down south to play with Paul's family. Erik has been missing Grandma JuLee's house and robot, he's brought it up several times this past month. So we thought we'd go see them before our little girl comes.
First off we got to go see Jamie and Nick in their play, Urinetown. They both did an amazing job and we loved laughing at the show and songs!

Then we took advantage of the snow there and went up to the mountains to play in it!! Lucky for us this resort was hosting the Dew Tour! We got to catch some live competitions and enjoy the freebies of the vendors there.
Erik and Katee sledding down this hill before we headed up the 'real' mountain.

The half pipe.
This was AMAZING to see in person!! So huge and so steep. We got to watch skiers run down the pipe, which I'd never seen before, I'd only seen snowboarders do the half pipe. But the skiers were amazing!

Apparently Toyota's mascot for the Dew tour was this Sasquatch. There was also someone dressed up all hairy too, he was pretty scary.

This is Erik ready to go home and very tired. And poor Paul's arms were exhausted from carrying Erik everywhere. Yes we were in line to ride the chair lift down to our car and go home.

On Sunday we had a Birthday party for Nick and Papa.
Check out the cool Star Wars cake Jamie made!

Happy birthday boys!
We had a great weekend and a great Valentine's. Hope you all did too.

Valentine Monkey

No these pictures are not from Halloween. Erik saw his monkey costume up in the closet and asked to put it on. So here is a picture of him showing off his tail.
And amazingly I got a decent front picture of him, he's been a little camera shy lately, hence the lack of pictures this year on the blog.
Isn't he a cute little monkey?! :)

Then for Family Home Evening we made a count-down paper chain to Valentine's day!
Yes, look at that lovely smile of his, oh and there's a shot of my baby belly too.
I love the children's Friend magazine! We got our first copy in January and I've loved it! It's my new source for FHE ideas. So yes, they gave me the chain idea. On each link of the chain is something we can do to show love to our family. So since it's day 2 of February, so far we've given kisses and said, "I love you"
I hope this helps Erik feel the spirit of the loving Valentine holiday.
Happy February everyone!
