To celebrate our 6th anniversary we took a trip, w/o kids, to San Diego!
A silly shot before the plane took off.
We had fun down town at the mall and we walked past the NBC building, very cool!
This outdoor mall was beautiful! We found a game area where we played Chess on a giant board with huge pieces. Very fun, but Paul beat me! :(
See there's the NBC building
Ate lunch at California Crepes, soooo yummy!!! Nutella and strawberries were made for each other.
Paul hopes to grow into this flip flop by summer.
My husbands been replaced by Darth Vader! And I thought I knew him!?!
We also played at Old Town San Diego and toured the Mormon Battalion Museum. Here's the view from the top
And the view from the covered wagon out front.
We found out that one of Paul's ancestors marched in the mormon battalion and that man made these earrings! WOW!
On our way to some amazing Mexican food at Miguel's we passed by these port-a-potty's and the name on them cracked me up, so we had to take a picOk now for the main event, the reason for the trip, the dream come true....going to the
SAN DIEGO TEMPLE!
Look above how you can see through the glass windows in that tower, beautiful!
I've ALWAYS wanted to go to this temple and it exceeded my expectations, which were high. I was amazed at it's beauty, the reverence and peace I felt w/in it's walls and how close to heaven I felt when I was there, it was great! I want to go again and again!
We also went to the beach a couple times. I really wanted to see the sun setting on the ocean so we went in the evening, despite the cold.
It was beautiful!
I loved that it was a bit cloudy so we could look at the sun.
Then it was time to head home, a farewell look at the city before we flew off...
...in this tiny plane. Almost doesn't look big enough for Paul in this huh?
We had a wonderful anniversary and were happy to see our kids again but kind of sad to be back to every day stuff, vacation rocks!
