Halloween Traditions

We've got some fun Halloween traditions we kept up on this year.
Carving pumpkins is always a favorite!
Erik got into this more this year. He wanted a scary face on one and a happy face on the other pumpkin.
He helped plan them out AND cut them out with our 'safety' kids kit.
Scared me a few times with swinging around the small carving knife from the set, yeah I took it away then.
Pawly and Erik working on the happy face pumpkin.

Another tradition, sugar cookies!
This year my sister and I got together to make a BUNCH of cookies.
Pawly, Erik and I decorated them and Erik is enjoying one of the ghost cookies in this picture.

Cookie break for Erik while Daddy's still hard at work :)

The finished Jack-o-lanterns!
And a plate of sugar, just what you need for Halloween :)

The costumes!
Erik LOVES Curious George, the book, the show, everything! So we turned him into Curious George for Halloween. Pawly was happy to be the Man with the Yellow Hat.
They are so cute and fit the part so well, don't you think?

But what's this, there are other Curious George lovers too?!?
Yes our Bishop and his daughter had the same great idea. When we discovered their costumes would be the same, we thought about changing ideas but Bishop insisted that we keep it. From then on the game was on to get the BEST Man with the Yellow Hat costume.
I'll let you judge which is the best.
I think they all look so great!

Another tradition: Trunk-o-treating!
I LOVE that our ward, and most others too, does a trunk o treat. It's so fun to see all your friends dressed up and share treats with each other.
My role/costume was the Narrator or the banana, or really the announcer of what Pawly and Erik were :)

Erik tried to be the Yellow hat man AND the George at the same time!

The haul of candy
This will feed all our sweet cravings till pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.
maybe :)

We are watching curious george as we speak! What a fun idea. That is pretty funny that you weren't the only ones there in that costume. Erik looks cute though :)

I love it! Erik makes such a CUTE little Curious George! Where did you find his monkey suit? Has he insisted on eating nothing but candy for lunch yet? Shaelyn tries to get away with that sometimes... but I've discovered that the more sweets you feed a child, the more "sour" that child becomes. :)

Great pictures. Looks like Paul had as much fun this Halloween as Erik did. Although Paul didn't have candy slobber on his face.

Man, Erik is a hottie! Love the costumes and pumpkins. It's been so long since I've carved a pumpkin. I feel like I missed out:(
